Another situation presented itself, allowing the Haitian Children’s Fund an opportunity to send a young boy, with a major heart problem, to India’s Star Clinic, where the flaws were corrected. This required coordination with the American embassy in Haiti, and the Indian Consulate in Cuba. The Indians sent their representative to Haiti to facilitate visa requirements. The boy was accompanied to India by his mother, where they were treated like royalty.
Upon his return to Haiti, the Haitian Children’s Fund acquired a scholarship at a leading Haitian school where he is making exceptional progress.
