SIX 40 FOOT CONTAINERS OF SOCCER BALLS
Speaking of emotional things, soccer is an emotional element of Haitian culture. You will find kids playing soccer, everywhere, often using an empty soda bottle for a cocker ball! Sometimes bunched paper, or a cabbage.
At one point ONE WORLD PLAY PROJECT, a Chevrolet-sponsored concept – that sees an almost indestructible soccer ball distributed worldwide – needed someone to coordinate placement of some 37,500 balls, from 6 containers. The Haitian Children’s Fund took over and each ball was carefully invested to guarantee maximum effect. As you drive around Haiti you will see our yellow balls in every corner of this soccer crazy nation.
The project was initially funded by STING, the musician, and has brought happiness to many children around the world.
